I only started having problems with my screen (it goes black after it’s opened more than 60 degrees) last week. Apple will not help, since I am beyond the 5-yr period. I am considering replacing the screen with an after-marker product purchased from amazon. The third-party approved Apple service center told me that this should resolve the problem, has this worked for anyone?

Typically the issue is the display cable part,
so yes if your replacement screen includes the display cable...
