Sometimes a Number is just a number, especially in a documents like PDFs.
Data Detectors can get a bit overzealous in interpreting a serial number or part number or other numeric string as a Phone Number.
Well guess what!? Most strings of Numerals are not phone numbers!
There needs to be an option to either completely disable Data Detectors of a specific kind, or in a specific app or globally.

Every time I have been forced to install Adobe software on my Mac (or any computer), the system has become less stable, but if Apple are unable to acknowledge this a bug, I will have no choice.
i did try some other 3rd Party PDF viewers but they were even more horrific to use than Acrobat Reader.
The option to disable Data Detectors in Preview is to use the current, free Adobe Acrobat Reader DC which does not incorporate Apple's data detectors when viewing PDFs.
