Cannot play Udemy videos on Safari after updating Sonoma 14.1.2 version

I had this issue and it was actually a config problem with the browser, I had to deactivate the second option in the screenshot bellow:

The description in English should be something like this: "Turn on content blockers".

After deactivating this option every video played okay on Udemy, hope this helps!

Once I disabled the Content Blockers from safari settings for Udemy, it started working as expected.

Steps:

1. File -> Settings
2. Websites tab -> Content Blockers
3. udemy.com -> select turn off from drop down



**FIX** KINDA Nothing seems to work for me as well. But if you open Udemy in a private window the videos play just fine. I have played around with setting for well over a hour and that's the only thing that I have found that works. Hope this helps someone.

What worked for me was selecting specific video quality instead of using Auto. Hopefully will work for you all because Udemy support is lost with this one, they just redirect to Chrome

Worked for me after trying everything -

• Choose video quality and not auto
• Press 'Cmd' and 'R' to reload website

Just Turn Off the Adblocker --works for me

For me what helped is enabling "Auto-Play" for Udemy in the Website tab in the settings.

I've been having the same issue. This is really strange, but actually turning content blockers ON for the Udemy site fixed it for me.

I think this issue is fixed now with Sonoma 14.4.1.

Changing the setting off Auto( you do this in the settings of the video itself) worked for me too! Thank you!

For me it was the opposite, I had to enable content blockers. Go figure!

I have tried to make udemy videos work with Safari after Sonoma upgrade but no avail.

Firefox and chrome seem work just fine. I dont want to use chrome or FF.

I have tried just about everything from cache clearing to disabled content blockers and browser protections and Udemy video settings. Nothing works. Safari is broken somehow after Sonoma upgrade.

Please fix it .

Same problem on Safari 17.3.1 and Sonoma 14.3.1, I tried every mentioned workaround.

Still the same problems with Udemy : they try to protect contents and no longer provide basic services!

I switch to iPad in order to continue using it :
