What you're looking for is a dock for your MacBook Air. There are tons of them available out there...just look on Amazon, for example.

You'll need to know you get what you pay for, though. The least expensive ones don't always work with external drives and/or external CD drives, because they don't supply enough power to the various ports. Ideally, you should look for one that can supply power to these ports. (Conversely, a hub draws power from your Mac, rather than supply power to it).

If you're talking about a basic USB-A hub, there are powered ones (that draw power from the wall), and unpowered ones (that draw power from your computer). Sometimes the same one can act as either, depending upon whether you plug it into power from the wall.

Neither of those type of hubs will charge your laptop.
