breaking down packaging for recycling?

Apple packaging is beautiful, and sturdy - but so darn impractical once empty. The plastic-like liners make the boxes nearly impossible to re-purpose for gifts or storage, and they are impossible to remove, making the cardboard parts impossible to recycle. I hate them!!!

I just bought AirPods Pro and the box and its contents (e.g., paperwork) are in pristine condition and could easily be reused for the next sale. It is noteworthy that the boxes are robust and a lot of raw material (trees) went into making them. I'm concerned that even if I put it in the city's recycling bin, that it will not be recycled.
