The emoji and symbols choice in the edit drop down menu is greyed out. I have outlook for mac 16.79.2. I have my keyboard settings to open emojis with the fn button. I have to use legacy outlook because the new one doesn't work with Exchange. Can you help?

Thank you, actually, that was what I was trying to do -- but "edit" didn't work, and ctrl+commd++space bar didn't work. Now they all do... go figure. It seems to come and go.
