Apple TV app not working on Roku

The Apple TV app on my Roku TV is non-functional. Initially, selecting purchased media to play resulted in a playback error. I restarted the app and restarted the Roku to attempt to fix this to no avail. I then tried to log out and log back, but after logging out, the Apple TV app shows only a grey screen with the loading wheel every time I open it. Even deleting and reinstalling the app does not fix the issue. When I am prompted to sign in, infinite grey loading screen. Any help is appreciated.

Another user (mygreensocks) suggested this procedure from Roku Support staff, which reportedly helped several users.

1. Remove the Apple TV app,
2. Shut off and unplug the TV (or streaming device),
3. Wait 30 seconds,
4. Plug the TV (or streaming device) back in,
5. Reload the Apple TV app.


Else try the Network Connection Reset, as mentioned by user Jarieta.
