printer is missing from the AirPrint. it was working fine until a recent update on the IOS

I have a brother HL-L3270CDW that I hooked up the AirPrint to my phones and iPads. was working over a year then suddenly the printer is not found on the airprint anymore.

iPad Pro, iPadOS 16

Try this workaround:

Turn off all your devices (printer included)
Turn off your modem router for at least 1 minute.
Turn it back on, waiting for its complete autoconfiguration (it may take some minutes)
Turn your printer back on and make sure it is connected to your Wifi Network
Turn on your iPhone then your iPad, making sure they are connected to your wifi network and check their Internet access.

If the issue still persists, contact your printer manufacturer's support team, explain your problem, and search for a potential printer firmware upgrade.
