workouts not syncing with connected equipment

Our gym has matrix gym equipment that offers Apple Watch sync functionality. However my ultra 2 does not switch and record workout automatically like my partners series 9 does that connects and as soon as u start workout it mirrors the equipment metrics and when finished shows in health app a matrix workout recorded. On my watch mine says it’s connected but does not do any of that and is frustrating.

Do you and your partner have the same version of watchOS installed on the watch?


The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.
