add related name on mailing labels using contacts

I have this question every year and it never seems to be adequately answered.

I'm sending Holiday cards and want to add related names to address labels (such as spouse, son, daughter, etc ) I can't find out how to do that.

I want to make labels for my Christmas cards that say "The Smith Family" instead of creating labels from Apple contacts that will only come out as the person's name. So, instead of my friend Amy Smith on the envelope (using the above example), I want to be able to alter it to "The Smith Family." Does anyone know a simple way to do this? Contacts allow for so many customizations, but this is not one of them, and every year, I end up addressing the labels by hand. There must be an easier way!

editing addresses to print on labels I am printing labels for holiday cards. I want to send to the XX Family instead of to the individual's name. For instance instead of going to 'John Smith' I want it to go to 'The Smith Family'. Is there a way to do that? Thanks.

Printing Labels using Specific Fields with Contacts Hello. I am trying to work on Christmas Card labels again this year. Contacts STILL doesn’t let me choose fields to print for labels. For mailing labels, I like to use something like “The Smith Family,” not “John Smith.” My work around has been to put the Mailing Label information in the “note” field and use Mail Merge in Word to accomplish labels. (I spent forever trying to figure out Mail Merge and Label Templates in Pages to no avail.) It’s so weird, if I want to print a “List” from Contacts, there are field choices, but not for “Labels.” Alas…

The way that I do that does not involve printing directly from Contacts but is very flexible.

I open Contacts and select all (or just those I want) and drag the Contacts to a blank Numbers spreadsheet and edit the spreadsheet to include desired names. I then export the Numbers spreadsheet to Excel format and go to Avery Design & Print Online and merge the Excel spreadsheet to print from the Avery site. https://www.avery.com/software/design-and-print/
