Sonoma desktop icons keep moving

Running Sonoma 14.0 on a MacBook Pro. Suddenly, my desktop icons change position when I wake from sleep or reboot. In view options, "Stack By" and "Sort By" are both set to "None", as always. I don't enable "Snap to Grid, or any "Clean Up" function. How do I keep my icons where I want them?

Yes it is a known issue, don't feel alone.
