It’s fixed. I went into messenger settings via settings , changed the photo access to none. It was set to full access. Opened messenger via the app and tried to send a photo. Got a message I needed to change settings. Went back into settings and changed back to full access. Then tested it via the app and it worked, then I tested it via photos and it now works again. I say it was an update clitch. Thx you everyone

I beg to differ with your opinion on whether this is an apple problem or not. Here’s why I think it’s an Apple product problem:

If I use the Messenger app itself, which arguably is not an Apple product, it works just fine. I can attach pictures willy-nilly through the Messenger app no issues at all.

However, if I open Photos and try to share a photo through the share sheet the warning message pops up before I even get into Messenger. In my mind, this makes it an apple issue, not a messenger issue.

it needs to be fixed. Suspiciously this whole problem started occurring with the new update not before.

C'mon, Apple. Own up to the fact this this is a glitch in your latest software update, and stop insulting us by blaming it on an app. I started having this exact same problem a few weeks ago, the same time as everyone else on this thread, right after another annoying update. Only, my problem isn't in Messenger. All of my photos on my iphone are now suddenly being saved in an unnecessarily huge file size, and I can no longer attach them to ANYTHING - email, text message, Facebook, etc.. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MESSENGER. THE PROBLEM IS IN THE PHOTO APP ON THE IPHONE.

I also had some really annoying problems with my voicemail after this same latest update. Again, on the thread in the Apple community related to that problem, Apple replied with an insulting tutorial on how to access your voicemail, as if everyone experiencing the problem was just an idiot who didn't know the most basic voicemail functions. In actuality, that annoying software update set the default voicemail setting to "live voicemail", which is what caused all of the problems. Apple NEVER admitted that on that thread. It was another user who solved the problem for everyone.

Seriously, Apple, get over yourself. Stop your cocky, insulting "GeNiUs" BS. Admit your mistakes, and give us REAL solutions.
