I have notifications on for both posts and stories for a few accounts on instagram but I only receive notifications for stories and direct messages.
I have checked every setting on both the app and phone settings, updated the app, deleted and reinstalled the app, updated my phone and turned my phone off and on again with no change.
I have had this issue for iOS 17.1.2 and a few previous versions.

Same issue with me I did everything you mentioned and even changed my phone tone but no luck notifications doesn’t work with me searching for solutions now as this issue really irritates me
