Why can't I import audio into Music app?

I have 3 folders continaing m4a files, downloaded and imported one folder with no problem. When I attempt to import the other 2 into the Music app, nothing happens. I don't see any difference between the folders, so don't see why this will not.

Hi Richard,

There may be an issue with the files that don't import, e.g. some minor inconsistency in the file format that other players ignore but that causes Music to reject the files. Music doesn't throw a warning when this happens. To double check place copies of the files in question into the Automatically Add to Music folder inside your media folder. The tracks will either be added to the library and moved to an appropriate location, or moved to a Not Added subfolder. If they end up there you will know for sure that Music is rejecting them, albeit not why.
