I have the IPad Air 2. I have the newer Apple Pencil (it doesn’t say the generation on the website, just says “Apple pencil”). I have an Apple Pencil adapter.
I can’t find any information online how to pair this pencil with this iPad and I really don’t want to call Apple. Any help?

No Pencils work with older iPad made before late 2015 and ealier.
The screen layer technology added to iPads that were made from late 2015 and later ( NOT including the 2017 5th gen iPad ) had not been developed and manufactured into older model iPads.

Unfortunately, there is no version of Apple Pencil that is compatible with that iPad.

The iPad Air 2 does NOT support Apple Pencil, there is not going to be a way for you to pair the pencil to the iPad.
