You have two potential issues. First, the version of Adobe software which was transferred must be compatible with the new computer's operating system. If not, it must be updated to a more current version. Second, you may have to use your original activation number to reregister the software in the new computer. Every Vendor's policy is different.
It is normal that you have created a new user. When you are complete you can then delete it if desired. Your prior user should have been transferred.
Thanks for your response! That makes a lot of sense. Since I am Migrating from a intel based to an M2, it may be worth installing new versions.
What I failed to consider is file permissions with Migration Assistant. When I ran the initial Setup Assistant I created a new user that doesn't match my old Mac. Is there a way to Backtrack and create a user identical to the old Mac, Or should I create an additional user with an identical user name as my old Mac, hopefully eliminating permissions issues with the files that I migrate? Does this scenario have a potential downside?
Perfect! Thanks for your help. Its been 10 years since I bought a new Mac. I have forgotten a lot of this... Hopefully I will get 10 years use out of my new Mac Studio Ultra M2!
