Connecting to strongest WiFi signal automatically

How do I set up my iPhone 15 so it is on the strongest WiFi connection in my house. I have my router down stairs and then a mesh throughout the rest of the house.

To ensure your iPhone 15 connects to the strongest WiFi signal in your house, follow these steps:

  1. Keep your router in a central location on the main floor for better coverage throughout the house. Mesh systems typically work best when nodes are strategically placed to cover dead spots.
  2. Go to your iPhone's Settings app.
  3. Tap on "Wi-Fi" to see the available networks.
  4. Your iPhone should display all available WiFi networks. Look for your network name (SSID). It might appear as a single network name for your mesh system or multiple names if your mesh is broadcasting different bands or frequencies (e.g., 2.4GHz and 5GHz).
  5. The signal strength indicator bars next to each network display the relative strength. Choose the network with the strongest signal. Typically, the closer you are to the router or the mesh node, the stronger the signal.
  6. Tap on the network with the strongest signal to connect to it.
  7. If your iPhone keeps connecting to a weaker network, you can tell it to forget that network. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the (i) info icon next to the network name, and then select "Forget This Network."
  8. If you notice your iPhone isn't connecting to the strongest signal consistently, try moving closer to the nearest mesh node or the router. Sometimes obstacles or interference can weaken signals.
  9. Some mesh systems have apps or settings that allow you to prioritize devices or signal bands. Explore your mesh system's app or settings to prioritize your iPhone's connection.

By following these steps and ensuring your iPhone is connecting to the network with the strongest signal, you should experience better WiFi performance throughout your house!

Seems you would need to first experiment and "tell" your iPhone which is the strongest connection, the one you want it to connect with automatically. Am amazed at these expert steps that explain precisely how to do that. Found this answer very helpful in order to help others who are also seeking answers. Thank you to SravanKrA for taking the time to explain.
