MacBook Pro is Hot when sleeping

My 2021 14in MacBook Pro with the M1 pro running Sonoma 14.1.2 is very warm to the touch in the mornings. At night I simply close the screen and leave it connected to power. And in the morning when I open the screen I notice the MBP is hot. The CPU is 150 degrees F according to the app CleanMyMac.

I know it didn't used to be this way.

Is there a setting that changed?

Maybe I have an app opened that's using the CPU even though the MBP should be asleep with the screen closed?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.6

>System Settings>Battery>Option try making changes

A SafeBoot Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies.

Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

<CleanMyMac.>

if you still have issues—Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS

There are two reasons why a computer is warm - the CPU is running (and has been running for a while, heat takes a while to build up) or the battery is being charged. Seeing that you have CleanMyMac installed is a red flag to me. At best, it is unnecessary and at worst it is malware. Delete it and any anti-malware software you have installed. Important: don’t just drag the applications to the trash, they need to be removed properly. Visit the vendor websites for instructions on how to properly and completely remove the applications. Then restart your computer and see if the problem is resolved.
