My Mac will not give me the option screen when I’m trying to factory reset it

I am trying to factory reset my Mac, but apples instructions don’t work with my Mac. I shut it down on, and then help the power button and tell it turned back on, and it never gave me the options menu. This is a retina 4K,21.5 inch 2017 iMac

Looks like the restore instructions you are using is intended to be used with Silicon (M-series) Macs.

With your 2017 iMac, you need to use the instructions for an Intel-based Mac.
