I have changed my settings for require password after screen saver begins or display is turned off to “never”

it still asks for the password and I have tried numerous time changing it to a time and them back to never, it asks for my password and then if I want to turn off the password and I say yes and then asks if I want to keep keypass turned on.

you would think it is turned off but it doesn’t

any suggestions how to get the password requirement disabled.

There may be another setting located elsewhere....depends on the version of macOS.

Try checking the Privacy & Security System Settings and click "Advanced" (at the bottom at least in Ventura) where there is another setting "Log out automatically after inactivity". You can try searching System Preferences/Settings for that setting or maybe just "log out".

I think there may even be another setting elsewhere at least on older versions of macOS, but Apple has been changing & moving these preferences/settings a lot over the past five years.
