I sent my watch off to repair and they replaced with no watch band

Apple Watch died after a full charge. Blank black screen , I was asked to send the watch in the mail via online support, they provided a postage label. They received my watch and promptly sent me a brand new watch back in the mail. I was pretty happy even considering it was an inconvenience without a watch for over a week. But, in the mail today the new watch arrived, brand new in box, LESS a watch band. I contacted support and they would not provide a new band or send my old watch band back. Im now up for $69.00 for a bit plastic at no fault of my own. NOT HAPPY APPLE. Too many things are pointing to never using apple products again. will start to look at closing my Cloud and moving photos over to Google or another cloud. A little bit feedback on Apple lack of support over other social media might be in order as well.

Maybe you should also let Apple know about your experience by using this Feedback link.

Feedback - Apple Watch - Apple

Apple does not follow these discussions, this is the only way to make them aware of issues or wishes.

I had to send in my old Apple Watch 5 for battery service at the beginning of this year. Apple sent me a box, including a piece of paper with instructions, for sending it in. And there was no room for anything else than the watch without the wrist band.

I guess, it will be very hard for the Apple Watch service center to keep track of a sent in wrist band, since it can't be identified anymore as part of your watch, once it is removed from it.

After testing your watch, it probably got shipped to another service center, where it will be refurbished, and a different service center sent out the replacement directly to your address, without ever coming into contact with your old watch or wrist band.

So you don’t consider Apple giving you physical instructions in the box and emailing you instructions taking care of their customers? The instructions very clearly state that if you mistakenly send it in it won’t be returned.

Many people don’t find difficulty in contacting Apple, or setting up their own service or appointments as they offers multiple ways to contact them, or to do self service. However, contacting Apple isn’t your issue you’re just bringing it up because you’re upset and just want another reason to be ticked off at them, which is a tough emotional reaction when upset.

It’s an unfortunate circumstance you’re in but it’s one you created. it’s your choice if you decide to buy the exact same band from Apple for $69, or shop around for other options at a more affordable cost.

In the end, it’s your personal choice what you do going forward but you’re blaming the wrong person and not taking accountability.

No box was sent to me, this was an online instruction. No communication other than a click on a screen which sent me to the instructions and I had to print a lable for postage, the instructions from memory were about 3 pages long and "yes" maybe I did miss that part to remove band. Disagree with contacting apple. If you have a specific problem as I did, it was very difficult to speak to a human. Glad you brought up the cost of a new band if I purchased one elsewhere , I have done so and that does display again how Apple is not looking after its customers as the price difference was over $60

My gripe is that Apple is NOT customers focused. I made a mistake? probably. Did my Apple product break down through no fault of my and leave me without a watch for over a week ( now longer ) Yes ! Is Apple overcharging its customers for accessories YES !! Im just calling it how it is,Apple needs to be better to its customers.

Thanks Ingo2711, will use the feedback tool. I feel like I’m flogging a dead horse here, Apple Never sent me a box with instructions , I followed online instructions that were very long and laborious. The link I clicked on came from this Forum. No box was ever sent. Thanks for your link, will do, for what it’s worth. Seems silly to be so stubborn on an issue, but Apple should love people like me, it helps them improve their sales.

Apple needs to look after their customers if they do make a mistake. I just wanted my old band back, Its mine and I sent it by mistake? Or, was it partly because Apple makes the process quite difficult too with not much support to back you up. Just trying to ring them was hard enough, fine print at the bottom of a page in the lightest of blue print, I was lucky to find it.

Try to read the instructions next time. Also, assume your mistake and be careful with other instruction. They were clear enough, you just had to read them. Apple is not at fault for your mistake. It takes 5 minutes to read the guideline and it covers for mistakes like this one. It’s not pleasant when people blame others because they didn’t do what was expected from them to do.
