2021 Magic Keyboard for 4th gen ipad pro 11”

Hi, I recently just bought the new ipad pro 11” and is in the market for the magic keyboard. The only thing is I am on a limited budget and the price for a brand new one is just a little too much. So I am looking for a second hand magic keyboard.

I saw many options and is said to be compatible with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, yet none says 4th.

So I wonder is there a new generation of the magic keyboard that only compatible with the new ipad? Can I buy the 2nd gen magic keyboard for my new ipad?

If buying second-hand, be careful. While all generations of the iPad Pro 11" share the same external case dimensions, the first generation iPad Pro 11" lacks the larger rear camera array "bump" that is common between the second through fourth generation iPad Pro 11" models.

As such, the early model Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro 11" had a much smaller rear cutout that will not accommodate the larger camera bump of the second, third and fourth generation iPad Pro 11". Conversely, the later model Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro 11" has the larger cutout that will accommodate all generations of the iPad Pro 11".

You might be best advised to only consider a new Magic Keyboard. The flexible connections that pass through the hinges of the keyboard are prone to failure due to repeated flexing as the keyboard is opened and closed. It follows that older keyboards that have been used for longer are perhaps more likely to suffer from potential failure than new items.

If purchasing second-hand, be sure to test before purchase.
