What is the 'Loud Sound Reduction" Feature in the Airpods settings all about?

Loud Sound Reduction seems to have the same function as Adaptive Transparency - to reduce loud noises when necessary. Is this a redundant feature? Or am I missing something?

I've read the page about Noise control and transparency mode, I've fiddled with the options everywhere in the configuration, but there is still some sounds that go right through, some muffled but others crystal clear, like some voices or ambient music. I specifically bought this ones because I read that the noise control was great, but I don't want to have to blast the music in my ears to avoid hearing something when that's the noise control job, or even then hearing external sound.

Airpods pro 2 adaptive mode in ios17 behavior issue Hello everyone, I've noticed something interesting with the Adaptive mode on my airpods pro 2. When I'm in a quiet environment ( no one talks but there is surrounding noise ), it remains in transparent mode, but as soon as I start talking with someone, it switches to noise cancellation mode. I would have thought the behavior should be the opposite - enabling noise cancellation in quieter environments and switching to transparent mode during conversations. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Also, is the Adaptive mode supposed to learn and adjust based on my usage habits over time? Would appreciate any insights or shared experiences. Thanks!

This is reducing loud ambience sound when using noise cancellation mode. It will show you how many sound you've suppressed using this mode.
