Delete 20 000 files - computer crash

Hi,

I have a huge problem. I accidentally copied around 20 000 pictures to my desktop on my computer. This was too much for my computer and I can't delete the files because when I try to mark one file or more the computer just crash. I have tried to go into finder aswell but it doesn't work either.

How can I delete the files?

Try this. I do not know if it will help, but it won't make the problem any worse. Restart your Mac in "Safe Mode": Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support.

Restarting a Mac in Safe Mode takes longer than usual so let it finish. While it starts up, Safe Mode will be performing some cursory actions that may result in reclaiming some storage space so that you can drag those files to the Trash.

See if that works. Then, restart your Mac normally.
