UPgraded memory 2017 mac now i have no sound from speakers but sound is working from headphons?

Do I have to take this iMac apart again ?

Sound issues after reinstalling macOS On my iMac 21.5" (2013), the sound disappeared after reinstalling macOS. After that, I tried reinstalling it again, but there was no result. macOS does not detect the audio chip, only "Digital Out," and the volume control is inactive. However, the startup chime is present when turning on the iMac, so I assume this is not a hardware issue, right? Also, when I plug in headphones, sound comes from only one side. I have already tried various solutions: resetting NVRAM/PRAM, checking audio drivers, restarting the audio system, booting into Safe Mode, but nothing worked. What else can I try?

imac no sound bootcamp for months So I had to use bootcamp to get running a rtx3060 card externally via the thunderbolt connection. I'm using win11 and most things work. For 6 months, I have a love and hate relationship with the iMac. one day sound, one day no sound, tried everything I have read. today I had sound for 6 hours and as soon as i rebooted no sound. the sound bar moves, in time with youtube etc but no sound from the speakers. having to use headphones each day is a joke, even my airpods 2 have problems, sound but no mic! Windows 10 it worked, but i needed 11 for some other software. any ideas?

iMac acting up Yesterday, when I unpacked my older iMac (macOS High Sierra ver. 10.13.6) I had no problems, but now it is acting up. The screen is doing slow movements when loading something as if it was planned and my audio (input & output) aren’t working. I went to the system settings and clicked sound, and it is claimed that the sound is off on both input and output, but I cannot change it?

Based on the ‘take this iMac apart’ comment, I’m guessing the model you have is not actually considered user upgradable…

If you had to remove the display to upgrade the ram, it’s definitely not considered user upgradable.

Something got disconnected or broken in the process. I highly recommend having it done by an authorized service provider.
