How to "pull" a text message thread as a file, etc............

On my iPhone I have a text message thread that I'd like to save as a file. The reason being a legal one. Let's just say that I want to be able to present this thread to someone should the need present itself. I don't have a MAC computer, just this horrible PC running Windows. Because of that I cannot access the text like I could when using my (no longer running) Macbook.

I spoke with an Apple Support person, and he didn't know of a way to accomplish this. He suggested that I look for a 3rd Party app.

Can anyone suggest a way that I can pull this text thread off and save it as a file (readable by MAC and Windows)? I really would like to remove the thread from my phone so that I don't have to look at it anymore. And keeping it on the phone "just in case" for years to come really isn't an desirable option.

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 16

TouchCopy by WideAngle Software works with Windows machines. I've used it before and it can archive all sorts of content from your iPhone. There is a free version, however depending on how much content you need to copy, you may need the paid version. I've not used it in a while, but when I purchased it, the cost was minimal. You can search the web using the information I provided.
