Hey so I bought an iPhone from Facebook as a gift, the phone was dead so I couldn’t see if it was locked, once I got home I saw “locked to owner” what can I do??

• Eligible purchase made with checkout on Facebook are covered by Purchase Protection. Items exchanged in-person using cash or other person-to-person payment methods are not eligible.

If you don’t qualify for purchase protection you unfortunately don’t have any options. In the future only buy used if you can do so following the guidelines for buyer protection from sites that support it. Only use payment methods that offer protection (do not pay with cash, CashApp, Zelle, etc). If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Do not pay for anything in person until you can inspect it and ensure it works as expected.

If the seller blocked you, there's nothing you can do. It is likely you bought a stolen phone.

You can recycle it.

Recycle the phone. Don't ever buy a used phone again unless you personally know the seller and where he lives and can return the phone for a full refund if you are not satisfied.

Return it for a refund, report the seller to Facebook.

If you can’t get a refund through Facebook, recycle the phone responsibly.
