Text to someone on a flight

Hi, I messaged someone (iPhone to iPhone) while they’re flying long haul (14 hours+). The message went as a text. Can this text message incur roaming charges if they didn’t turn on airplane mode? Very worried.

Anyway, when I take my phone out of airplane mode in the morning, I won’t get any SMS messages that people sent from androids while it was on airplane. I used to get a pile of messages that would come through, and now I don’t. I’m on a group text with android users, and while I was asleep, someone sent a message, and while I don’t see the message, another person on the thread gave it a thumbs up this morning once my phone was out of airplane mode, so in android land since it doesn’t do reactions on the text, it says, “Jen liked the message ‘blablabla.’” So I can see the content of the message that way, but no clue which person sent it, because the original didn’t come through. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

Texting someone whose in airplane mode I sent my friend a video while their iPhone was in airplane mode. It shows “Sent as Text Message” under my video. Will they receive my video once they turn off airplane mode in a week? Or does the video never go through because it’s not actual text?

Receiving texts, even though airplane mode is on When I had airplane mode on, I still got text messages. At first, I thought I hadn’t pressed the button correctly. On the second try, with airplane mode ON, I was even able to go on the internet & order something! Anyone have the same trouble as I’m having?
