Phone 12 battery stuck at 85%

So I got the iPhone 12 when it first came out. Paid it off and everything. Thought deleting some pictures and apps that I didn’t use would help prevent my battery charge to a full 100%. Easy to say it didn’t. It’s still stuck at 85%. What should I do?

We assume that you are asking about Battery Health / Maximum Capacity. Battery Health always decline with age. It never goes back up....unless....you replace the battery.

Battery Health on average declines at a rate of about 1% a month. If you bought the iPhone 12 when it came out, the phone is now about 3 years or 36 months old.

You would expect Battery Health to be in a range of around 65-70% by now.

Your battery is at 85%. That is amazing. There are a lot of users who would love to have the luck that you have had.

My iPhone 12 performed at about average. At 2 years, the Battery Health was about 80%. Normal and expected.

Your phone will need a new battery when it is down to 80%.

The Maximum Capacity reading on my iPhone 12 Pro Max has been sitting at 85% for at least 6 months now. I’ve been paying $9.99 monthly for the extended warranty (due to a camera issue) & thought that when it went to 80%, I’d at least get the battery replacement out of it. I use it a lot throughout the day & charge overnight. Is there some sort of issue with the iPhone 12s regarding battery health?

At this point, I might as well drop the extended warranty & pay a third party repair for a new battery. I can’t depend on it to record videos for a whole 3 hour period, which is my main concern about battery.
