Forgot my Notes password, how do I reset it ??

My apple notes app gave me the option to protect and lock certain notes . Unfortunately I forgot the password and have no idea how to reset it.. please help !

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 17

In such a situation, you can just perform the steps provided at the section "Reset your notes password if you forgot it" in this support article:--> Lock or unlock notes on your iPhone or iPad

Classic good news, bad news, Catch 22.

The good news......you get an unlimited number of guesses at the password you used

The good news......you can reset the Notes password

The bad news and Catch 22.....the new password won't work on the old notes you are trying to recover
