I got the Apple Pencil USB-C and it does not pair with my new iPad Pro

Here is Apple’s definitive compatibility list for Apple Pencil and iPad:

A USB-C Pencil can only be paired with and charge by the host iPad when connected via the USB-C to USB-C cable. If you have an iPad or iPad Pro that has a Lightning port, the USB-C Pencil is not compatible.

If your iPad does support the USB-C Pencil, ensure that the iPad has been updated to iPadOS 17.1 or later. Support for the USB-C Pencil was introduced with iPadOS 17.1.

Which iPad Pro did you buy? You may have the wrong version of the Apple Pencil.
