Hi,
The usual location for music items on your computer with iTunes for Windows is C:\Users\<User>\iTunes\iTunes Media, however it is possible to create the library or media folder in another location. Installing the Apple Music app should not have touched the files in this location.
From the description of Apple Music (for Windows) in the Microsoft Store:
This is a preview version of Apple Music, and not all features may work as expected. After installing the Apple Music preview, iTunes will no longer open, and audiobooks or podcasts on this device will be inaccessible until a compatible version of iTunes is released. To revert back to iTunes, you’ll need to uninstall this version of the app.
Availability and features may vary by country or region. Active Apple Music subscription required. Subscription renews automatically after trial. Syncing media to Apple devices requires the Apple Devices app.
In addition to those listed limitations I cannot find a way to get Apple Music (for Windows) to switch between libraries, create a new one, or open and covert a locally stored .itl file, things which are possible on a Mac. The Import function only adds individual files. You cannot work around this by dragging and dropping a folder onto Apple Music. This seems to justify the second item I highlighted above, Apple Music for Windows may be useful if you have an existing iCloud Music Library with an Apple Music subscription, and only want to add a few locally stored files at some point using that computer. At present I can find no way to access a scripting interface for Apple Music, again this exists on the Mac version, and may come at some point, but right now Apple Music seems rather limiting. I knew there was a reason I immediately uninstalled it last time I took a look.
FWIW the first highlighted item needs updating. iTunes 12.13.0.9 does indeed open with Apple Music installed. I was able to import an audiobook, as a folder, for a test. I presume I could access podcasts too if I so choose. Anyway all of the music in the iTunes library is inaccessible while Apple Music is installed. Uninstalling Apple Music allows iTunes to work correctly again.

WRONG. The old ITunes allowed you to purchase music and keep it in your personal ITunes library. Or if you owned a music CD, you could (rip) copy from that and keep those (in your library.) Neither one of those was a "download." I should have hundreds of hours of PURCHASED/OWNED music in ITunes...somewhere. After all, I paid for it. I own the right to hear the selections I paid for. . But it's all somewhere in ITunes...not in my computer. Not in a download.
If you downloaded it, it’s in the same place it always was. If you didn’t download it, you can again.
