Transparent app window with shadow in the middle of display

A couple of days ago a transparent box with dark shadows around it appears in the middle of the screen on my MacBook Pro. It is obnoxious but I cannot figure out how to get rid of it. Help!

Opacity of app windows For the last few weeks, I've noticed the windows of all my applications become translucent, ie: I can see a 'ghost' of the desktop or whatever is behind them; occasionally also something I have been looking at previously or have open elsewhere appears beneath a new window when I open it (see image). This is getting really distracting, especially when working with colour and detailed images. To clarify - I don't mean the opacity of the menu bar etc (which can be turned off an on via System Preferences > Accessibility > Display), but the WHOLE window. Including spec below.

Display issue or wallpaper issue. There is some discolouring at right top corner of the Macbook m1 pro 16inch that too when opened Launchpad for certain wallpapers such as "The "Lake" or "The Beach" in light mode. Do anyone have any idea. This is not shown in other wallpapers be it either dark or light. I have seen the same effect in all other display models somewhat different lengths in showroom. So is this wallpaper issue or display issue? Can anyone help me out. Bought just a week ago i.e July 1st 2023

Did you try just restarting your Mac? Does it reappear? Does it reappear if you start your mac in Safe Mode?

Could you post a screenshot?

I'm not sure exactly what I did, but I messed around with it and made it disappear.
