Perplexed at the uninvited arrival of the Snapchat app on my phone. It is not a welcomed guest!

I noticed today that the Snapchat app was on my iphone 13. I deleted it immediately without opening it. I had an account years ago that I used for about 30 seconds (long before apps were a thing).

Don't apps require an apple password to join the party? Was my pw compromised? Or is something else going on? What do you think? I have since changed the apple password.

Verify if anyone else is logged in by scrolling to the bottom of the screen at Settings > [name on top].

If anyone else is logged in there, they could have downloaded the app, and it will show up on your phone automatically.

While I cannot explain the sudden appearance of SnapChat, by changing your Password and Passcode you have eliminated the chance of another person having access to your account information. At this point, I would just say "That was weird", and move on. You also have the option to run Safety Check on your device:

I assume this device has never been managed by a work or school environment, where MDM (Mobile Device Management) software was used that can install and delete software at will.
