My macbook pro with 10.11.6 can't detect my brand new ipad pro....please help. I need to transfer my music onto my new ipad pro.

I just purchased a brand new ipad pro. I have an older macbook pro that I have music on and need to download the music onto the new ipad pro. When I plug the ipad into the macbook, the macbook does not see the ipad in itunes for me to sync the music over. My macbook pro has 10.11.6 on it. Can someone please help me transfer over my music. This is quite urgent.

MacBook Pro 13″, OS X 10.11

Back up your data, check the application compatibility table, click here, and then on the download link for High Sierra or newer. If your computer isn't capable of it, move the music to one that is, or if it came from the iTunes Store, redownload it directly from there.

Catalina and above won't run 32-bit software; if you choose one of them, use Go64 as well.
