I found earlier items that said if it says “GET” it is free but if there is a charge, it will be displayed. So I clicked on a GET” but then it said 7 days free , then about $40/ year.
That means that the app itself is free, but some of the content in the app requires in-app purchases / subscriptions.
For example:
Notice to the right of the Get button it says in-app purchases. It will not tell you how much they are before downloading, as many apps have different pricing for different tiers.
If the app itself costs money, you would see the price instead of the “Get” button.

Sometimes if you scroll to the bottom of a listing it will have in-app prices there.
Thank you for response. Apparently what I read elsewhere was correct but this application is just deceptive. Not sure if that is considered a problem or SOP. It did say "GET". But what you get is a 7 day trial, then it costs $40/yr or more, depending on wkly/monthly/annual. They must get away with it because no charge is made when you download, but rather a wk later. Too bad.. "Picture Fish" a handy app that I would be willing to pay for it but not that much! And, the developers certainly did not develop most of the content. Fish photos that are in public domain or possibly not... They just added the photo matching code. I deleted right away.
