Verifying Genuine Apple product

The Apple magna cable for my Apple Watch broke after about seven months, and I just replaced it with what I was told was an Apple charger. Now I'm home and I don't see the Apple logo on the charger. How do I know if I was ripped off with a "Made in China" look-alike? ( I am in Mexico and went to a locally respected phone store that sells Apple phones, Apple Watches, accessories, and other brands as well.
