PCIE M.2 drive not mounting after Sonoma install

+1, same here. 4x Samsung drives on a Sonnet card, stopped working immediately after install. Highly annoying and exactly why I'm sceptical in updating OS. Sort it out apple, this has cost me a whole day.

On a 2019 Mac Pro. I had a Sonnet 4X4 pcie card installed internally with two SSD drives. Files got corrupted, kept ejecting. I lost work, ended removing them from my computer.

Anyone downloaded the 14.3 update that was just released? Does this fix the issues that everyone is having in this thread?

Same issue here, 2019 Mac Pro, OWC Accelsior 4M2 PCIe 3.0 M.2 NVMe SSD Adapter Card with Samsung 970 Evo drives. Even when mounted Disks do not show up in SoftRAID (Volumes do show).

Do you also experience a prolonged boot times with progress bar beneath Apple logo stuck around 50% of progress?

This issue just started happening for me on Ventura 13.6.4 (22G513). I have the Sonnet 4x4 PCIe cards too. No issues until today. Restarted several times and still doesn't mount.

I hope Apple's figures this out soon.

Any word on the street about 14.4 RC?

I can't believe I'm actually considering Windows to be a more stable OS than macOS (i.e., pricing out options to change... everything I do). I mean, c'mon... Unix. How do you botch 50 years of kernel and device driver experience?

Same issue here, Sonnet 4x4 PCIe card, 2019 Mac Pro. Been happening since Ventura for me.

Clean installed Ventura and Sonoma; neither helped.

I use this machine for work and have lost so much money as a result; a lottery on which drive, if any, will mount, though the sonnet pcie card is apparently officially supported , constant crashes, constant hangs, and an issue where thunderbolt devices cause my whole system to power off the second I plug anything in (my machine was in with apple for almost a month and the advice was buy new audio interfaces! I'm desperate so I did, guess what, still happens and I'm thousands out of pocket).

I really feel angry at the constant issues I've had with a machine I bought at such an inflated price-point, for the spec.

Feels like apple have stopped caring about pro users and seems to have gotten worse since the introduction of their own chips. These machines simply can't be a priority and the time it's taking for a fix just shows that.

I use Logic Pro for my work so in a difficult spot but right on the verge of learning a new DAW and making this the last Mac I own.

I know 80% if this post is basically irrelevant but needed a rant... I AM SO SICK OF IT!

Same issue. @Apple -- I raised the same with enterprise support. We use NVME storage of sources | artifacts that need to be cached locally. We also test on 2019 MP (as you should) to ensure HW compatibility and every single one of our automations are failing on that hardware because of this issue.

Well we've at least garnered some attention from Apple.... I was just informed one of my posts here was deleted.

Is there now a cover-up of this absolute debacle?

In no way should professional users of the most premium Mac Pro product Apple sells face an issue like SSD drives consistently failing to mount, with most of use shelling out well over $10k for each computer and relying on it for our livings.

This is a disgrace.

This didn't solve the issue, turning spotlight off makes the drive readable until you put to much read load on it then it crashes machine - multiple OS updates, multiple tech support conversations and issue still remains

My Sonnet M2 PCIe 4x4 unmounts intermittent my M2 SSD!

(MacPro 2019, 28 Core CPU, 192 GB RAM, 4 TB SSD, AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo.)

I have 2 RAID0, each with different M2 SSD. Sometimes the first one is "kicked" about 30 sec after login, sometimes the second one.

Apple, your 2019 MacPro is a real expensive investment. I do ask you to fix that problem very soon!!!

two days ago, I upgraded to Sonoma 14.4.1, and everything was working good. But this morning, my Mac Pro 2019 do not mount my INTERNAL SSD 8T where all my work is! I look everywhere and it is like there is not SSD inside!

Like you wrote, it is a very expensive investment and Apple should fix that now. I can't work!

Nope, I have the same issue with both. My guess it's a PCIe issue with any NVME disk. I see no pattern. It appears with any card, any disk, they all have the issue (just scroll back and go through the list). I wonder how many people have a AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo installed (looking for patterns).
