What is the point of showing "PTA approved" in legal and regulatory section?

I bought the phone from an Apple store in UAE and the legal and regulatory section is showing "PTA Approved". If my phone is not PTA approved and we have to pay more money to get the phone approved by PTA, what is the point of showing "PTA approved" in legal and regulatory section?

The PTA approval just means the hardware passed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority's test and complies with their requirements.

It does not mean your carrier will activate it, or that the specific device (IMEI) has been accepted for use on Pakistan networks.

Your carrier needs to do that and is entirely separate to the Approval given by the PTA for the general hardware.
