iPad Mail app not using default account in “From:” field

On iPadOS Version 17.1.2

I have two different @me.com accounts.

Under Settings|Mail|Default Account I have Address1 checked as the default

When I compose an email with the Mail app, it defaults to using Address2 in the from field

I have to touch the From field and select other address every time

If you compose an email from someplace other than the Mail app (by sharing), your default address will be used.


When composing an email inside the Mail app, the address used will be the address of the account you’re currently viewing.
