AppleTV Watch Now defaulting to network app instead of purchased content.

I have purchased TV shows in my Apple library that are also available through other streaming platforms (in this case peacock which I do not subscribe to).

When I start playing that content from ‘Watch Now’ the AppleTV app tries to send me to Peacock to access the content instead of playing the content in my Apple library.

Go to the Details page for your show (click-and-hold, Go to Show), then scroll down to How to Watch, and select the preferred content provider there. That should update this link for future use as well.

If that doesn’t work when it should, then try removing the show from Up Next, then start playback of the wanted episode from the Library. That should update this link for future use as well. Your watch history would be preserved.
