Apple refused my refund requests and Niantic said Apple should take care of my request. what do i do?

Thanks for sharing, Douglas! We have re-checked your account “***” and found the recent PokéCoins purchase on 24th November 2023 for 14500 PokéCoins. We could not find any other recent purchases apart from this.

For the transactions you are referring to, please continue your line of questioning with the Apple support team (http://apple.co/3s9vzy7) as they handle all payment-related issues. We appreciate your understanding! ^NF

There are about $200 of transactions. Apple refuses to reimburse even though Niantic said it is an Apple issue.

Apple is not obligated to grant refunds. They do so, at their own discretion. They can, and will deny a refund, if they find it does not meet their criteria for refunds, or you have requested more than a few in a short period of time.

If your request was denied, there's not much else to do.

You will have to contact Apple Support directly and work it out with them directly.

This is a user-to-user forum. Aside from moderating these forums, Apple mostly is not here.

I take it that you purchased these "PokeCoins" through in-app purchases. Apple may have handled the billing, but it is the app vendor who made the decision to charge you for these artificial consumables. My guess is that they're pointing you at Apple because they don't want to refund your money. Apple in turn is likely deferring to any charge the app vendor billed you for, unless there is some evidence that there was a technical glitch, i.e., you or your kids never made the $200 worth of in-app purchases.

You may just be out the $200.

Like the woman who handed a phone to her kids to keep them amused, and didn't realize that the kid was going to press the button to buy a "wheelbarrow of *****berries" – a wheelbarrow of artificial consumables that cost $50 in real money.

If your kids ran up this bill, you may want to use Screen Time and Parental Controls to disable their ability to make any in-app purchases in the future.
