MacKeeper not honouring its Lifetime Licence
I purchased MacKeeper Pro on Christmas day 2013. I've been using it ever since. I was warned by some that it was basically a virus but it seemed to work for me finding bugs and finding duplicates. In 2016 they started to bill me yearly without my consent and I asked them to return that money. A lifetime license should be for my lifetime and the fact that I am writing here proves that i am still alive :)
I've been using the MacBook Pro I purchased in 2011 until just a couple of months ago when it finally died. I was lucky enough to be donated a MacBook Pro 2012 which I am currently using. I tried to use MacKeeper on it and they asked me to pay!
In the chat they wrote: Please note that the lifetime version of MacKeeper is incompatible with macOS 10.14.X and higher.
I see that you are using
macOS 10.15.7. So it's recommended to upgrade to the latest MacKeeper
version to use the fully supported and secure software.
I've written to them asking them to honour what they sold me, a Lifetime License. Let's see what happens.
My major problem though is, since chatting with them I cannot get my Chrome browser to work. I've read that MacKeeper has put viruses on some folks computers and then asked for $900 to get rid of them and other horror stories. Some of the things I work on only work on Chrome. Any suggestions on what I should or can do?
