I updated to 17.2 from 17.1 recently (15PM, bought 5 days ago, so I knew it wasn’t the phone) increased battery drain and screen idle time, restarted the phone using flight mode and i think it has fixed itself (look at the screen idle times before and now, one in the lighter blue color)

To prevent your phone battery from draining quickly and to last all day, go to settings - privacy and security - location services - system services - turn off important locations.

iOS 17.2.1 - iPhone 15 Pro Max has been draining with always on display on w/ no wallpaper.

Husband and I each have brand new 15 Pro, they're 3 weeks old. We both updated to 17.2 - mine is fine but my husband's battery is now worse than his old SE Gen 2. It didn't even last him the morning. This is not really acceptable after spending over £1k.

I do not have the pro, but my battery is draining very fast after I downloaded the new 17.2 update, I had no battery drainage issues before then. I just googled to find out if anyone else was having this issue I took my phone off the charger it was at 100% less than 10 minutes it was down to 82%. I’m not a gamer and I don’t download. I’m just a very casual browser but I wasn’t even on my phone at all after I took it off the charger and it drained that much.

Using 15 pro max. Till 17.2 update my battery life is insane. Whatever I do I charge my phone in every 1.5 days. I was just mind blown and impressed. Now, dear apple just released 17.2.1 surprised update with no release notes. And guess what my battery is just draining way too fast. So stupid. Apple should give option 1 degree backward to get to the previous version. Bad experience till 2 days. More bugs. I got 80% limit battery but it charged to 85%. I think they messed up something with battery programs.

Same here. I hardly have 2 hours of active screen time (Instagram and TikTok), which are not very heavy tasks. However, it drains the battery pretty fast, much faster than it was on the latest iOS 16.

I have Iphone 14 pro with 100% battery health

Same experience with 13 Pro, this update is killing the battery big time.

Nope switching it to any other model will not help you. As it's an software issue, which even I am facing in my 14 pro max. So better wait for the fix :)

Same with my iphone 11 ( battery replaced recently ) and apple watch 7.

It's been terrible and here I though it would be better.

Apple's habit of slowing and bottlenecking older phones is not going to go down well. Hopefully more users share their experience and Apple should be held accountable for these bad practices. How are they not testing these before they are rolled out to the users ?

I have updated my iPhone 14 Pro Max 4 days ago to version 17.2 and since then my battery health has been deteriorating up to 3 percentage and i been using my phone just like before it’s not like I been doing something new with it and it’s really concerning.

After updating my iPhone 15 Pro Max to the latest iOS 17.2, I’ve noticed that battery drains faster than before. Despite the battery health showing good in settings, the phone requires recharging on the same day, even after being fully charged. I’m seeking advice on how to resolve this unexpected battery drain issue !!

Same! I haven't been noticing a huge drain (and hopefully I won't) but it's definitely noticeable while using apps where normally the drain wouldn't be as much as it is now after the update. I also have the 15 pro max
