Since i updated my iphone 15 pro max to 17.2, I have a message that says "syncing paused" at the bottom of my imessage screen. Forcing it to sync doesn't fix it. I see others are having the same issue.

All, understand the frustration. As before, mine was not simply fixed by installing 17.3. My recommendation is to install 17.3, then do the following on a device by device basis, but wait until it finishes on one before starting another. Example:
1.) install 17.3 on iPhone
2.) reboot iPhone after install
3.) Settings > iCloud > Show All Apps > Messages in Cloud > Sync Now
4.) Let it finish. It’s going to take awhile.
Then do the same with other devices having the issue. One by one. Let the sync finish before starting the next one.

Mine is doing the same thing!! Has been for a couple weeks! I feel like all my messages are on my phone, but my daughters is a different story. None of hers will sync. Please help!!
since i upgraded to 17.3 the 'syncing paused' is showing up. Verizon doesnt know what is going on and said to contact APPLE...HELP Please...

Back for an update, so now it's randomly starting back syncing and randomly pausing without me touching anything. Anyone else seeing this?
Did yours keep randomly pausing and resuming during the sync after updating iOS?
Wow it is Jan 28th and I have now had this problem for about a week. I didn't noticed it back in December. Had it been resolved for anyone else?
As of 30Jan2024 this has not been fixed. The syncing does drain my new iPhone 15 Pro. The software is current to 17.3
It's now January 31, and I still have the problem. I have tried every suggested fix, step by step. Nothing works. This is obviously an Apple problem. Ugh!
