how to turn off log in

Need to turn off my login requirement. I open the system, click on security and Privacy, unlock the lock and then uncheck the box for "Require Password". recheck th lock and turn off the computer. when I turn it back on, there it is,, IT STILL REQUIRES ME TO ENTER THE PASSWORD TO USE THE MACBOOK. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
