need advice as to which method to use for iphone backup on my dell computer
I'm trying to download iPhone to my Dell computer. I'm not sure what method is best , icloud or computer

You can backup to iCloud without using a computer. See: How to back up your iPhone or iPad with iCloud - Apple Support
If you want the backup to be stored on your computer, see instructions in How to back up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your PC - Apple Support
Or you can do both.
Personally I prefer the iCloud Backup as it can be set to do that automatically.
