WatchOS 10.2 drains battery in ~6 hours?

I upgraded my Series 9 to WatchOS 10.2 last night, and just got a low battery warning (at 10%). The watch was on the charger last night, and it's 7hours since it was removed.

Is anybody else seeing dismal battery life? Hopefully this is a fluke, but if it persists, then we have a real problem here.

If the battery drains too fast after an update, see all the replies to:

WatchOS 7.5 battery drain - Apple Community

FWIW, in some cases, unpairing the watch, completely erasing it, then pairing and restoring the backup will resolve the battery draining issue after an update. (Simply unpairing and pairing again may not work.)

Also, some people have found that simply waiting a few days after an update resolves the battery draining problem.

Let it run for a few days. There are millions of watches not having this problem. If you’re still having this problem … back the watch up and wipe it and start again. After this if you’re still having this problem… wipe the watch again… don’t add anything to the watch and see if there still a battery problem. If your still having this problem call Apple Support and let them deal with this.

It’s ironic that you hear rumours of Apple killing products by increasing battery drain in a FW update, then you see it for yourself.

my Apple Watch 7 worked fine, no problems at all and I got 3 days use before it needed recharged. After updating to watchOS 10.2 - my battery only lasts 10 HOURS! So yes I take that as definitive proof of the FW tactic to boost sales. Of course Apple won’t keep this post up - they actually have trolls to scour this site to remove FACTUAL answers that they don’t want you to know about - even though it’s true, it’s “a secret” so they'll no doubt remove it. But yes it’s affecting everyone who DOESN'T have one of the latest Apple Watches (surprise surprise)…….

furthermore, YOU shouldn’t have to fix an issue that THEY have created, I.e being told YOU need to/should try to unpair, delete then redo it all over again. They created this problem so it’s their job to fix it not yours. God knows they make enough money to offer a far better support platform than the copy and paste (from other websites) gang we currently get.

So this is apparently still an issue, as I have just started having this problem on my SE first edition. My watch charged overnight, but by the time I got to my morning exercise class 3 hours later, it was down to 10% and my exercise was not logged at all. Charged it 6 hours ago and now again, 10% juice warning.

APPLE, if this is your way of making people get a new watch, think again. FIX THIS NONSENSE.
