Siri defaulting to WhatsApp when making calls

If you go into Settings - WhatsApp - Siri & Search, there is a toggle for "Learn from this App". But at the bottom of that screen there is also a toggle for "Use with Ask Siri." Turn it off and Siri will call from the Phone app.

I didn’t read through all the replies, but if the toggle shows off and siri is still trying to use whatsapp…go to the use siri toggle setting and toggle on then off again. That worked for me.

Have you by any chance changed that while abroad ? This is a feature your will appreciate if you're in a location where Whatsapp frees your data or celular use (like in Mexico), with AT&T plans for example. The other day I said something that had Siri from my HomePod use my phone) not Whatsapp to call someone in Mexico from my Canadian plan... (fortunately I realized this before encurring any long distance charge... I'd have prefered in such a case it would have gone through Whatsapp, while under wifi :)

I can't believe that in 10 days no one had answered this question. I had the exact same problem with my husband's phone today. He got mad at me because his phone calls didn't ring on my phone because they went thru WhatsApp. I had to figure it out and fix it. <roll eyes>

In my case, yes, that’s possible. We traveled to Brazil recently. He also got a new phone yesterday, so I wonder if that “feature “ transferred over from his old phone?

Well I can’t say for this particular case, but if everything was “imported” from the other phone (assuming both are iPhones), many setting will indeed transfer, to the best of my knowledge.

Same problem here. I toggled every switch in the settings-siri-whatsapp section off, but it still tries to use whatsapp as default.

I have no toggle are with ask siri on my phone

I have tried that and Siri is still using Whatsapp by default. I no longer can make calls from the car…

I’ve turned off every option, including learn from this app and use to ask Siri (among others), and Siri is still asking me every single **** time I try to make a call
