Siri defaulting to WhatsApp when making calls

When I ask Siri to make a call it automatically defaults to calling on WhatsApp and not the phone app.

this isn’t due to options on each persons profile as when I ask for instance “Siri call Home” I’ll get a reply that there isn’t a number for Home in the WhatsApp library.

I’ve seen online that Siri will learn which apps you use the most and default to them but I can’t see how to disable the option.

If you go into Settings - WhatsApp - Siri & Search, there is a toggle for "Learn from this App". But at the bottom of that screen there is also a toggle for "Use with Ask Siri." Turn it off and Siri will call from the Phone app.

Have you by any chance changed that while abroad ? This is a feature your will appreciate if you're in a location where Whatsapp frees your data or celular use (like in Mexico), with AT&T plans for example. The other day I said something that had Siri from my HomePod use my phone) not Whatsapp to call someone in Mexico from my Canadian plan... (fortunately I realized this before encurring any long distance charge... I'd have prefered in such a case it would have gone through Whatsapp, while under wifi :)
