Late 2015 iMac no longer recognizes my Canon Pixma M922 as a scanner,

After this update, my late 2015 iMac no longer recognizes my Canon Pixma M922 as a scanner, only as a printer. Does anyone have an idea what might be going on, and how to fix it? I tried deleting and re-adding the printer, but that did not help. Thanks!

I am sorry you are having scanner problems. If you will bear with me, I will offer some things to consider which may be useful. Whenever we install an operating system upgrade or some OS updates, printers and scanners will often stop working. Then a new OS compliant software must be installed for the scanner. What you can do is to thoroughly check the vendor's web site for updated compliant software that works with your computer's operating system. If none is available, then you should ask when it will be released. If that doesn't work, you can try scanning using Apple's Image Capture app. It will scan, but is not full featured. Another alternative is to download and try the full featured scanner software from VueScan. You can try it for free. It will show a watermark until you purchase it. I bought it and can recommend it. I have no association with VueScan. Good luck.

Perhaps the unit didn't see an update for that aspect's

drivers in more recent system update? Printer, scanner

and all in ones can do that. You may have to try & find

a third party driver; or freeware such as others suggest.

I've been OK with my A.I.O. printer/scanner/fax; and also

it does AirDrop. My last printers have been Epson, while

their ink gets harder to find. Maybe time to get new one?

Your Canon Pixma needs scan driver; some had luck.

Depends on your last macOS, Canon may not support.

No specific ideas; just check for 3rd party choices.
